About Us
 It all began in the
1980's when I accidentally applied for a job with 'Swift Caravans',
thinking it was to do with sales when in fact the position was within
the customer care department. This involved me learning virtually everything
there was to know about caravan production and repair techniques in
order for me to answer customer queries with some authority. I
also spent a considerable length of time at Swift within the parts
supply division, giving me a great insight into all the bits and pieces
that go to make up a caravan.
In 1995 I was offered a
position with 'Coachcraft & Leisure' based in Scorrier, a rapidly
growing repair centre, by Paul Stimpson, the original proprietor.
It was a bold move, but one which turned out to be very positive, as with
expert guidance from Paul and his brother Mark I began to put all the
theory into practice. I spent the next 6 years carrying out a wide variety of work, from changing a switch to
complex damp repairs, as well as carrying out annual servicing to many
hundreds of caravans.
Sadly in 2001, a family
bereavement resulted in my move back to Yorkshire where I eventually
took charge of the service department for 'Frys Caravans' a major
caravan dealer in East Yorkshire. Also during this time I attained
many training certificates for people such as Alko, Thetford, Truma etc,
and also attained my gas competency certificates.
However the family and I
never lost our love for Cornwall, and when the opportunity arose to set
up my own business in late 2005, I grasped the chance with both hands! |
